What do you think it costs for a luxury hotel suite at a lake hotel in Geneva or perhaps a heritage hotel suite in Jaipur, India? Maybe you would have guessed somewhere between $4000 to $10000 but what if I told you that it can be as much as buying a two bedrooms apartment in a small city!? It may be shocking but it is nonetheless true, because these are the most expensive hotel suites in the world. In this post we will be talking about some of the world's most well known but very expensive hotel suites.

Finding a hotel that provides all the facilities that you need within your price range can be a tedious and time consuming job. Here we have some tips that will help you cut the cost of your hotel booking.

1. Determine your budget:

The most important thing to do at first is to decide what your budget is. For example, if you are on a business trip you may need to have access to conference call facilities or fast, reliable Wi-Fi access, so it is always advisable to decide what you need first off and narrow down your search by looking only at hotels that meet your specific needs and that fall within your budget.

2. See what is and is not included in the price:

: Always check to see what is included – for example, different hotel tariffs include different things that others may well charge for – e.g. breakfast, free-

shuttle service (either to and from the airport or even into the city centre or to the beach), free phone calls and Wi-Fi, use of gym/ spa, office facilities etc. Compare the price that you are quoted and the facilities offered with similar hotels to see which offers the best value for money. Don't forget that the cheapest price is not always the best value and may not include many important and chargeable extras.

3. Book early and (where possible) have a flexible schedule:

Almost every hotel runs early bird offers or special deals for times when they are not busy. For example, business hotels are generally quieter and have more availability (more availability = better prices) at weekends or during public holidays. Conversely, leisure and city centre/ tourist hotels will be busier during these periods. Plan your holiday as far in advance as you can (preferably at least two to three months before for leisure travel) as it may save you a considerable amount of money. Most hotels change their tariff every month or according to the season (high, low, shoulder season etc.) so if you don't have to travel in high season, you may well save a considerable amount of money by looking at alternative dates.

4. Be flexible on location:

Hotels near the city centre are almost always much more expensive when compared to hotels further out. If you have to be in the city centre (for example for a meeting or if you are only going to be staying a very short time), then you can expect to pay signifcantly more than a hotel in the suburbs or one at the airport or exhibition centre. If budget is an issue and you are staying for more than a couple of nights, check the prices further out from the centre and whether these hotels are well connected by transport links to the city centre. For example, you may find that a ten minute metro or bus ride into the city centre gets you a considerably cheaper hotel where you will get far more for your money. You may also find that it offers the bonus of being quieter in the evenings and you could even discover a part of the city that you might not otherwise get to see.

5. Do you know anyone that works at a hotel in the destination you are planning to visit?:

It may seem a strange suggestion but if you have any contacts e.g. friends (or friends of friends) or relatives that work in the hotel industry (especially in branded hotels that are part of a chain of hotels and have more than one property in your desired destination) you may get a significant discount – perhaps up to 50% off of the normal tariff. Almost every hotel has some special discount for their employees and their families and you may be able to get access to this discount.

6. Compare prices online:

It is very important to compare any prices that you find with other similar hotels and with other prices available for that particular hotel. There are many price comparison websites that will be able to help you compare like for like prices for any given hotel or destination. These sites get their prices directly from hotels or via travel agents such as Tickets to India which has specially negotiated prices and which most of the time will have rates lower than with the hotel directly.

7. Check for any special offers and discounts, deals and coupons:

There are many deal/ voucher sourcing websites such as vouchercodes.co.uk that collect and display deals from different websites. These deals can be in the form of cash discounts, cash-back offers, discount coupons etc. Simply visit one of these sites and search for deals on your desired hotel and redeem it on the hotel's website. Alternatively, do a search on a search engine for discount codes for your preferred hotel. Don't forget that some websites provide discounts or cash back on certain credit and debit cards.

8. Contact the hotel directly and be prepared to haggle:

If you have decided on a particular hotel, it may be worth contacting the hotel directly. Rates are not set in stone and there are many hotels that will allow negotiation on price (assuming you are speaking to the right person e.g. the sales team) which could save you some money – particularly if you are a frequent visitor to that hotel or if you are staying for an extended period. To strengthen your bargaining position, it is worth doing your homework and checking the prices or nearby cheaper hotels. Many hotels would rather have your business for a lower than advertised price (particularly during slow periods) than have no business at all. It is also possible that when you can't find availability for your hotel online, they may have access to more capacity.

9. Check for loyalty programmes/ schemes:

If you are a frequent traveller this option may help you to save a lot of money as well as giving you access to more services and facilities.
We all know that the internet and technology in general makes our lives easier and brings the world closer – into our homes, on our laptops, tablets and even into the palm of our hand on our smart phones. It makes our working lives much easier, enable us to check the weather, football scores and pay bills but probably the biggest single change in recent years is how we shop online – whether it is our groceries, mobile phones or our holidays and travel requirements. There is no need to visit shops or travel agents, no waiting in long queues, now that everything is available with just a few clicks of the mouse.

Buying flight tickets online is no exception and can save you significant time and money as well as enabling you at a glance to compare the best fares on different websites. But with such ease and choice it is all the more important to make sure that the website from which you are buying tickets is genuine and that your money is safe. Here we bring you a few tips that help you to identify trusted and reliable websites where you can book your flights with confidence.

Check the company and website’s history: With so much choice, it is important to know how long the company has been operating, the longevity of a company gives a good indication of the likely reliability given that companies that last tends to be ones that are trustworthy and provide good customer service. Always check the “about us” page on their website or do a search on the company on the internet. One good resource for this is to visit whois.com and check their registration date which is the date when their domain (site) name was registered. If the company has a long enough history, it is a good indication that it is safe to buy from them.

Check for customer service and support:After sale services is of course very important because as with any purchase sometimes you might have a problem online and require the assistance of their customer care team. Companies that do not have a telephone number may be one man operations and will not offer the support you need. In addition to this, sometimes a well trained customer representative may be able to find a better fare for you. Check whether the company provides after sales support and if they have 24X7 support. If not, makes sure that it is available in the day time in your time zone.

Check for an ATOL No.: ATOL (Air Travel Organizers License) is the scheme run by the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) which is in place to protect the traveller when buying tickets from travel agents in case of airline failure. If a company holds an ATOL license it can sell flights tickets and hotels legally in the United Kingdom. If you buy your flights tickets from a company that has an ATOL license, you are safe in the knowledge that if the agency fails to provide your tickets, the full amount would be refunded. It also allows for repatriation if you are stuck abroad in case the airline goes bust. It is very important to check that the company or website is ATOL protected and has an ATOL number. For example www.ticketstoindia.co.uk has an ATOL no 5092, so you can book your flights and hotels confidently with them. To check if a company is ATOL protected or not visit www.caa.co.uk and search for a specific ATOL number or company name.

Check Customer Reviews: There are a number of review websites available these days that will give you a good idea about consumer experiences and the good and bad points of any given company. For example, websites like https://www.trustpilot.co.uk and http://www.reviewcentre.com allow customers to write about their specific experience of a particular company/website from where they have purchased. Reading reviews will give you a good idea about the company’s behavior and service quality and help you to decide if it is a good idea to buy tickets from a particular website.

Compare the Fares: As with any product, different flight booking websites have different fares so it is always worth comparing fares to ensure that the website you have chosen is giving you the cheapest fare. To compare fares, you can visit various fare comparison websites like skyscanner.co.uk, or cheapflights.co.uk etc. A brief guide to finding the cheapest online fares is available here

Check that your money will be safe when you pay: These days online financial security is a major concern. When taking payments, websites should provide information on the security measures that they employ so that you can be secure with your purchase. Most sites will use the website protocol “https” rather than just “http” which indicates that the site uses encryption to protect your data and money. In addition, many sites will ask for further verification from the card merchant which provides an additional layer of security. Remember that as inconvenient as it seems, these measures are there to protect your money and your online security.

By following the above tips, you can book you next flights confidently and avoid post booking stress and worries.

Tickets to Indiahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17805987152371457812noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4867596144828642203.post-87033150904375095272014-12-04T05:11:00.000-08:002015-03-09T06:07:31.025-07:00Top 10 Most Luxurious Hotels in Delhi

India is a country of festivals and colors and millions of visitors come to India from around the world every year. Although visiting a country with such a different culture can be quite daunting, India is a very worthwhile and accessible country that is well worth the effort. Here are some tips for first time travelers visiting India.

This kind of temperature is difficult even for the locals to bear but will feel extremely uncomfortable for visitors coming from colder climates. The temperature of cities on the coast is much more reasonable, averaging between 20°C and 25°C although they tend to have higher humidity. The rest of the year the weather is generally more pleasant and a more enjoyable time to visit India, however, it is always worth checking local weather conditions before you travel.

Be patient: Patience is of course a virtue but in India it is also a necessity as most Indian cities are crowded, have a lot of traffic congestion and plans do not always work out as per your best intentions. Apart from the problem of traffic, there are numerous other ways in which the Indian way of life will conspire to make you late reaching your destination. Take a deep breath, think pleasant thoughts and as a precaution, make your schedule flexible and give yourself more of a margin when making arrangements.

hard to take for the untrained palate. It can also be tough on the stomach and the digestive system if you are not used to it. Try to avoid too much fried food too as it is often made of recycled oil that contains a high amount of cholesterol and trans fats. Some Indian cuisine can be very sweet and contains a lot of sugar so you should probably try to eat the sweeter fayre in moderation to save your waistline! All in all, everything in moderation is the key as India has such a huge range of tasty delicacies that you will want to try.

Dress appropriately: Women should wear full length clothes in all areas other than when on the beach. Clothes should cover the arms to the hands and the legs should remain covered. Aside from cultural sensibilities, it also helps to protect from dust, pollution and the strong Indian sunlight. It will also help ladies to avoid any unwanted attention by locals who may not be used to seeing western women let alone women with exposed skin. Another option for women looking to fit in is to wear the two piece Salwar Kamee, Kurti or trousers.

Take off your shoes: If you are visiting any sacred places such as temples or churches, you

should make sure to remove your shoes before entry to avoid causing any offense to worshipers or locals alike. The same applies to any other places where visitors are taking off their shoes – the rule of thumb is follow the locals – if they leave their shoes outside, so should you. If you are used to wearing heavy boots, it is recommended to keep a pair of sandals with you. Some temples (or other places where you might need to take off your shoes) provide facilities to store your shoes to keep them safe. Charges for this are minimal – for example you will pay just 10 rupees in most places and many others such as the Lotus temple are free of charge.

Bargains: If you want to purchase something from a local market (pretty much anywhere other than the shopping malls) then you will find a lot of bargains on offer. The vendors will almost certainly try to charge tourists more than locals so be aware of the price that others are paying before you begin haggling. No one will sell you anything at a loss so be prepared to walk away and let them come down in price and remember that it is only a bargain if it is worth the price to you. If you can not reach agreement, move on, there are plenty of others willing to sell to you!

Ride the train: If you want to
cover long distances in India and are not taking a flight, the train is probably the best, quickest, cheapest and most comfortable form of transport. If you can, avoid the overpriced sleeper cabins and opt for the ones with air-conditioning although they do cost a little more. It is, however, safe and comfortable and as long as you book your tickets at least 15 days in advance, you should be able to reserve a place at a reasonable price – this is particularly important when booking overnight trains.

Women - do not travel alone: Although India is a relatively safe place to visit (for example, a recent study from the London school of Economics says that Delhi is a safer place then New York in terms of crime rate), it is nonetheless recommended that women should travel in groups or with friends or relatives particularly if traveling at night. Always carry a mobile phone, don't talk to strangers, don’t keep too much cash on you and avoid very crowded areas as there can be pickpockets. As with any country, sensible precautions at all times are the key to a stress and trouble free visit.

Keep an emergency number on your speed dial: When arriving in any city, take some time to find out the numbers for the local emergency services. Remember that throughout India you can dial 100 for any emergency (fire, police or ambulance), but there are some special helplines set up for women travelers as well as a train helpline if you are traveling by rail.

Get an auto rickshaw: For a different and fun way to travel, try getting a rickshaw. As you disembark from any train, you will find plenty of rickshaws available although the drivers will try to charge foreigners more. Many hotels provide free rickshaw pick ups - simply call them and ask them to collect you. If you are hiring an auto rickshaw don’t pay more than your meter reading. Be wary of any friend or the driver's asking to come and sit with you. If they do, ask them to leave. If they refuse, get out of the rickshaw and try another one.

Tips to Remember while Flying First Time

Air travel is one of the most popular forms of travel as it is fast and comfortable and allows people to travel thousands of miles in a relatively short time and access parts of the world that would previously have been inaccessible.

For your convenience I have put together some suggestions that will make your first time travel experience less stressful and more enjoyable.

Buying tickets: Make sure you buy your tickets from a reliable source – a company that offers good value and service for a fair price (find here). Here is a small guide on how to buy your flight tickets online.

Check all your required documents: For most flights you will need a passport and for some a photo ID card can be used. Certain destinations and nationalities will also require a visa. Don't forget that if you are traveling with infants, you must also carry their birth certificate with you.

Baggage: Check how much free baggage your airline is giving you - airlines measure the baggage in weight and size so confirms that your baggage is not exceeding the either the weight limit allowed or the size limitations or you will have to pay extra for extra baggage.

Flight Status: remember to check your flights status (departure time and check in) either online or at the airport any time from 24 hours to 1 hour before departure.

Arrive at the airport on time: Check in, security and other checks take time. Try to reach the airport at least 3 hours before the scheduled departure time of your flight.

Check In: Check in at the check in desk and collect your boarding pass, weight your luggage and if you have excess baggage, you will need to pay for this here. After that you will have to pass through security where you will need to keep your boarding pass handy at all times as a security attendant will ask you to see this and your proof of identification.

At security, take off your shoes, jackets etc. and place them on the conveyer belt along with your luggage. To avoid delays and for convenience, consider packing items such as shoes, jacket, laptop etc. in your hand luggage.

After passing through security check in, check your gate number on the screen to make sure that it is the same as on your boarding pass. Check the boarding and flight time and make sure everything is as per schedule, take a seat, grab a coffee, relax and wait until your flight is called for boarding. Alternatively, you can get yourself something to eat or do some last minute shopping but don't forget to listen for announcements and check the screens to ensure that you make it to the gate in good time for boarding.

When you board the plane, the flight attendant will guide or direct you to your seat as per your boarding pass. Place your luggage in the overhead cabin and take your seat, switch off any electronic devices such as mobiles, MP3 players, laptops etc. and don’t turn them on until the flight attendants advise you that it is permitted to do so. Follow all safety instructions given by the captain and flight attendants onboard as the rules are for your own safety as well as others around you.

Have you arrived at your destination? Congratulations! Now if you need a taxi to your final destination, check the nearby helpdesk as they will tell you where you need to go. If your family or friends are at airport to meet you, give them a call or go to the meeting point to find them. Congratulations on a successful journey!

As one of the quickest and most comfortable forms of travelling long distances, it is not surprising that airline travel is a very popular mean of travel. These various advantages mean that it can be very costly and of course no one likes to waste money. There are a number of ways to cut the cost of your air travel. With the following tips, you could save a lot of money on your next flight.

Compare fares: There are many fare comparison websites which look at numerous fares from different airlines and online travel agencies. These websites allow you to see the cheapest fares for your chosen dates and for various routes. Comparison sites allow you to see at a glance which agency has the cheapest fare. But take care to ensure that there are no hidden charges and that the total airfare quoted after inclusion of any hidden charges is still the cheapest.

Consider alternative dates and airports: If your schedule is flexible then it is a good idea to check fares for alternate dates (for example, many websites allow you to check +/-3 days), Sometimes flights for these dates are much cheaper than your initial desired dates. It is also worth checking the fares for your nearest alternative airport or even a different arrival airport as fares can vary considerably from one airport to another.

Book a round trip: If you are planning a stay of just a few days or even a few weeks, it is almost always cheaper to book a round trip rather than two one-way fares.

Keep a look out for any discount coupons and special offers: From time to time travel agencies provide special discount coupons or launch special offers to attract customers. These may be in the form of an introductory discount or a percentage off of your booking. Usually these involve a voucher redemption code which must be redeemed at checkout.

Check which airlines offer free food: Some airlines charge extra for meals and it is therefore worth taking this into consideration if there is not much difference between the fares.

Check the baggage allowance: Different airlines, agencies, fares and ticket types have different luggage allowances and costs for excess luggage. Whilst some fares seem cheap at first glance, if you intend to take a lot of luggage, the base price can increase considerably. It is always worth considering the luggage you intend to take and then checking which agencies and airlines will charge you the least for your luggage.

Beware of fraudulent companies: Generally speaking, if something seems too good to be true, there is every chance it is. If a website is showing unrealistic fares which are considerably lower than any of its competitors, it is worth checking the company history to see how long they have been in operation. Check if the agency is ATOL Protected or not, and check if it has an ATOL number.
